Garfield – Garfield series

Holding the Guinness World Record for “most widely syndicated comic strip”, you’ve surely heard of Garfield before. The cartoons of this lazy and sarcastic orange tabby conquered many hearts, and the character’s popularity even resulted in an animated television series and a movie.

With a big love for Italian food and an aversion to Mondays, Garfield represents the inner thoughts of average civilian.

Crookshanks – Harry Potter series

The highly intelligent yet rather grumpy Crookshanks is Hermione’s cat in the extremely popular Harry Potter books and movies. While the fluffy pet looks like a cat, the animal is actually a Kneazle – a mythical cat-like creature that is known for its intelligence and ability to recognize untrustworthy individuals. Just like Hermione, we fell in love with this odd-looking genius!

Puss in Boots – Shrek & Puss in Boots series

After appearing as a main character in the Shrek franchise, Puss in Boots got his very own movies and television series. Puss is a ginger cat with big green eyes and a Spanish accent, typically wearing a black hat, cape, and leather boots.

This highly romantic yet somewhat mischievous feline is a fiercely loyal and honorable friend. Don’t let his cute eyes fool you though, because his claws can literally cut glass!

Toulouse – The Aristocats

Toulouse is the oldest brother of our favorite cat family, the Aristocats! The adorable kitten has vibrant orange fur with a lighter underbody, and wears a big, blue ribbon.

While Toulouse likes to hiss in an attempt to make a badass impression, the little one is actually quite easygoing and dreams of becoming a painter.

Thomas O’Malley – The Aristocats

Just like us, Thomas O’Malley – a ginger, streetwise tomcat – fell instantly in love with the Aristocat family. After meeting the mother, called Duchess, O’Malley becomes like a father to her three kittens and takes responsibility for them, is in a stark contrast to the life he used to lead. If you’re planning a cat-themed movie night, the Aristocats should definitely be on your list!

Cat – CatDog

Felinius (a.k.a. Cat) is no ordinary cat. Him and his brother Dog make up CatDog – a conjoined twin with one half of the animal being a cat and the other a dog. Although Cat and Dog are best friends, they have very different personalities, leading to more than a few frustrations.

Cat is the smarter, more uptight and selfish brother who dreams of fame and jet skis. This spotted kitty is a ginger like you’ve never seen them before!

Oliver – Oliver & Company

The adventures of Oliver & Co. started rather sadly. Oliver, an orange kitty, was the only kitten of his litter that didn’t get adopted in the streets of New York. As he starts to look for a new home all by himself, the kitty meets plenty of new friends and enemies.

Even after the happy ending, we keep wondering why no one wanted this caring, loyal, intelligent kitten who always stands up for his loved ones.

Catbus – My Neighbor Totoro

As the name suggests, Catbus is a cross between a cat and a bus. This fantastical creature has a big, grinning cat head, twelve legs, and its hollow body is designed to resemble a bus, featuring an interior covered in a striped orange-brown fur.

This extraordinary kitty can appear and disappear at will, taking its passengers to any destination they desire. Catbus was inspired by a Japanese legend that believed cats learn how to shapeshift as they grow older. How cool!

Goose – Marvel cinematic universe

In a world filled with superheroes and villains, Goose may seem like a normal cat, but she definitely isn’t. See, Goose is actually a Flerken. Although this intergalactic race looks like regular cats, Flerkens have entire universes hidden inside their belly, which makes it possible for them to eat basically anything, no matter how big. How Goose grabs hold of all that? By using massive tentacles coming out of her mouth. Wow!

Azrael – The Smurfs

Although rather orange than blue, Azrael is an important figure in the tiny Smurfs community. As the pet cat of the wicked Gargamel, this smart feline mostly operates as a dangerous enemy of our beloved Smurfs.

However, since Azrael is often maltreated by their owner, the feline may choose to turn against him and cooperate with the Smurfs out of spite.
